Comprehensive resources for research in social work.  Select this link for remote access to the White Library catalog and other resources.   Andrews University librarians can assist with remote access.
AMBS Library Catalog  Books, tapes, videos, electronic texts in the AMBS Library and other PALNI libraries. To search all PALNI libraries, change the "Location" box in the keyword search to "All PALNI Libraries".

The AMBS Library collection is limited in the area of social work.  However, AMBS students may may request materials from other PALNI libraries through interlibrary loan.  If convenient, an AMBS student may go to any PALNI library and check out materials.

Goshen College Library The Goshen College Library supports a social work major.
WorldCat Books and other materials in libraries around the world.  Items identified in WorldCat may be requested through interlibrary loan.   
NetLibrary Search the NetLibrary ebook collection for online books on social work topics.  You must create a user account (directions) at a computer on the AMBS campus in order to use this service from off campus.

EBSCOhost Research Databases A collection of databases that provide indexing and full text of scholarly journal articles.  Particularly recommended for social work:
Academic Search Premier: Indexing and full text journal articles in all subject areas including social work.
The ATLA Religion Database:Religious perspectives on social work topics.  Indexing articles, essays in books and book reviews. Some full text journal articles.
Medicine and health databases:
MEDLINE (index prepared by the National Library of Medecine)
Biomedical Reference Collection: Basic (100 full text journals)
Health Business FullTEXT (130 full text journals)
HealthSource: Consumer Edition (190 full text journals + indexing of 200 more titles)
OCLC FirstSearch: Specialized Resources Contemporary Women's Issues (CWI): Full text articles on women's issues including health, human rights, and legal status. Select "CWI" from the drop-down list of databases.

National Association of
Social Workers
The National Association of Social Workers works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies.  Site includes a Student Center with educational resources and information.
