Andy Brubacher Kaethler has been involved in youth ministry for nearly 20 years, serving in conference, congregational, and camp settings. Before coming to AMBS in 2003, he was minister of youth ministries for Mennonite Church Eastern Canada. At AMBS, he launched the !Explore program that encourages youth to consider ministry and has directed that program as it makes significant connections between the seminary and the Mennonite denominations and as it supports the church’s goal of fostering a culture of call. In addition, Andy has taught and lectured in areas of theology, philosophy, and culture.

“Forming church-goers of any age into faithful interpreters of the Gospel message and committed agents for Gospel change must include the ability to read contemporary culture in order to see where the Gospel and our culture come into tension and where Christians ought to resist culture. It is not enough for Christians to simply be counter-cultural. We must also be able to identify, articulate and live out the new center of our lives as humble recipients of God’s grace and as passionate collaborators with Jesus Christ in reconciling all humans and all creation to God in peace.”
