Urban pastoral education (SCUPE)

The Seminary Consortium for Urban Pastoral Education (www.scupe.org) is an interdenominational program in Chicago, Ill., that provides specialized urban theological studies. The program is designed to equip seminarians with the theoretical information and practical experience necessary to make them effective leaders in urban settings. Courses are offered in two formats:

  • On weekends, beginning Friday afternoons and ending Saturday evenings.
  • Over several weeks or months during January and the summer.

Students are immersed in the city as they work in urban churches and organizations, and as they receive supervision from experienced urban pastors and leaders. Follow the link at the left to see the list of upcoming SCUPE courses.
