For United Methodist applicants to AMBS

United Methodists are invited to study at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary through a new arrangement with Garret-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Chicago.

The partnership between AMBS and Garrett-Evangelical, which is endorsed by the University Senate of The United Methodist Church, combines the strengths of both seminaries in preparing students to lead congregations and serve God’s people.

Available programs

  • Master of Divinity for United Methodist students: United Methodists who want to prepare for licensing can earn a Master of Divinity degree through AMBS. Students follow an AMBS degree program that includes five courses from Garrett-Evangelical. These courses constitute a United Methodist Certificate and focus on mission, evangelism, worship and United Methodist history and theology. They make up 15 of the 90 required hours for the AMBS MDiv.
  • Peace Studies Certificate for Garrett-Evangelical students: AMBS offers a Certificate in Peace Studies to students at Garrett-Evangelical. The specific five courses that will constitute this certificate are still being determined. Check back here for updated information.
