Why Choose AMBS
"To the growing number of Christians from many denominations who suspect that there are life-giving insights in the Anabaptist tradition for mission and ministry in contemporary culture, AMBS offers not only extensive resources but opportunities to explore, discuss and reflect on these resources in a learning community shaped and energised by the Anabaptist vision." — Stuart Murray, trainer and consultant with Anabaptist Network in Britain and Ireland; author of The Naked Anabaptist (Herald Press 2010)

Centered in Jesus Christ … grounded in the Bible
Our teaching, learning, worship and prayer focus on seeking a deeper understanding of God and how God is revealed in Jesus Christ. We see the Bible as essential in all of our efforts to follow Jesus’ life and teaching. As a Mennonite seminary, we emphasize certain perspectives: the authority of Scripture; the significance of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection for salvation; discipleship in all of life; and the call to integrate mission, service, and peacemaking.

Academic excellence
Each degree program combines scholarly inquiry with opportunities to develop skills and knowledge to prepare students to join in God’s mission in the world. You will find that everyone at AMBS is engaged in learning—faculty as well as students.
Spiritual growth
The array of resources for spiritual growth at AMBS includes regular chapel services, Daily Office prayers, evening Taizé services, spiritual retreats, and spiritual direction.
Preparation for ministry
AMBS is an excellent place to prepare for leadership in the church. If you are unsure of what your future direction may be, AMBS is a good place to listen to God and explore with others where God is calling you. Graduates serve the church in many ways: pastoring, teaching, mission and service assignments, pastoral counseling and chaplaincy, and being involved in community justice organizations.
Community
Here you will have opportunities to learn to know Christians from around the world and across Canada and the U.S. You will have opportunities to establish lifelong friendships, feel the support of faculty and fellow students, share in pot-luck meals, and play together (Ultimate Frisbee and soccer are a couple of options).
