- Digital library at University of California Berkeley. Includes links to other digital library projects.
- Making of America
- Digital library of primary sources in American Social History from the antebellum period through reconstruction. Many works on religious topics.
- Africa Focus
- African Studies Program of the University of Wisconsin-Madison presents more than 3000 slides, 500 photographs, and 50 hours of sound from forty-five different countries.. These digital files are stored in an accessible database and provided for personal use or educational presentations.

- Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection
- Site at the University of Texas at Austin provides electronic access to maps for all regions of the world, mostly the 19th and 20th centuries. Some represent time periods back to the first century.
