Distance Students

Online Resources

AMBS Distance Students have access to the online books, articles and databases linked from the library home page. Some are free and some require entering your AMBS Library barcode number. Contact the AMBS Library if you can't find your barcode number.

Request a copy of a journal article or book chapter:

Use the AMBS link in library databases, or complete this form.

You may use the Interlibrary Loan form to request copies of excerpts from AMBS print books & journals. A librarian will correspond with you to determine that you are a distance student and that your request falls under "fair use" copyright provisions.

Local Library Collections

A local public or academic library may provide some materials for AMBS course work. You can find a local library by searching under "Find a library" at www.worldcat.org.

More detail is available about library collections and services available to students and faculty at AMBS Great Plains.

If you wish to use the services and resources of a private academic library that is not open to the general public, contact Eileen Saner. She will send a request on your behalf to the library. Any costs related to the use of the collections are paid by the student.

Loan and Renewal Periods:

Each item should be returned to the library as soon as use is complete. Books are due on a designated day at the end of the semester. Other materials have a shorter circulation period. One renewal may be requested by email.

After a borrower receives several overdue notices, the borrower will be sent a bill for the replacement cost of the book plus a $20.00 handling fee.
