Faculty scholarship

The seminary community gathered on May 5 to celebrate new scholarly work by faculty and others in the community.
Mary Schertz, director of the Institute of Mennonite Studies, said, "This is day that we celebrate the labor of love that we call writing, with all the lonely hours of research, ..., hours of drafting and revising to achieve something that has meaning and communicates. It is also the day that we celebrate the labor of love that we call publishing, with the attention to detail, details of style and grammar, details of meaning and accuracy, details of formatting and presentation, to achieve something that has meaning, communicates and draws readers to open, buy and use the materials—for the glory of God and the mission of God in the world."
