Publication hightlights

Willard Swartley, professor emeritus of New Testament, received the 2008 Dale Brown Book Award for Outstanding Book in Anabaptist and Pietist Studies, for his volume Covenant of Peace: The Missing Peace in New Testament Theology and Ethics (Eerdmans 2006). The award is organized each year by the Young Center for Anabaptist and Pietist Studies at Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, Pa. Covenant of Peace was selected this year from a pool of 35 nominated titles. See more at the Eerdmans Web site.

The Way is Made by Walking: A pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago (InterVarsity 2007), by Arthur Paul Boers, associate professor of pastoral theology, shares insights and experiences of walking the 500-mile Camino de Santiago. The Inter-Varsity Web page for the book says, “It’s a story of learning to pray in new ways, embracing simplicity, forming community, living each day centered and focused, depending on God to provide.” The book has caught the interest of a wide range of people and Arthur has been interviewed by CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), the Toronto Star, the Canadian religious network program, 100 Huntley Street, and many others.
