New student receives fellowships

Scott S. Janzen, a member of the incoming class at AMBS this fall, has received two fellowships from the Fund for Theological Education (FTE). These recognize him as a young leader with exceptional gifts for ministry, according to the FTE announcement.

Scott received the 2008 FTE Volunteers Exploring Vocation Fellowship, which includes $2,500 for educational expenses and attendance at the FTE Conference on Excellence in Ministry. He also received the 2008 FTE Congregational Fellowship, which matches support from his nominating congregation, Bethesda Mennonite Church, Henderson, Neb.

Scott and Christa, his wife, came to AMBS after serving with Mennonite Voluntary Service for one year. He is a graduate of Bethel College, North Newton, Kan. He is entering the Master of Divinity program at AMBS. Christa is an art teacher at Northridge High School in nearby Middlebury, Ind.
