Kim Tan, Ph.D., combining roles as venture capitalist, Bible teacher and social entrepreneur, will present an evening lecture, “Enterprise Solutions to Alleviate Poverty,” January 29, beginning at 7 p.m. at Sunnyside Mennonite Church.
Tan is founder and chairman of a private equity fund management company, based in the United Kingdom; he has written a number of books, including The Jubilee Gospel; and he is involved in charitable initiatives all around the world. He believes business people are often more likely to stir people to action than churches are and will emphasize the strength of combining both to find solutions.
Tan is the featured speaker for Pastors Week at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. This evening session is open to all, especially business and nonprofit leaders along with church leaders.
The presentation at Sunnyside Mennonite Church, 23786 Sunnyside Avenue, Elkhart, is open to the public at no charge.
Everence, based in Goshen, Ind., is a cosponsor of the AMBS Pastors Week.
