AMBS faculty to lead seminars at MC USA convention in Phoenix

Ten seminars at the Mennonite Church USA convention in Phoenix, July 1–6, will have leaders who are professors at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. Eight of these are semiars for adults, one is for youth and one is for youth group leaders.

Adult seminars

  • Anabaptist-Mennonite approaches to the Bible: Loren Johns, professor of New Testament
  • How we got the Bible: Loren Johns, professor of New Testament
  • I have called you friends: Friendship, witness and Christian love in the age of Facebook: Andy Brubacher Kaethler, assistant professor of faith formation and culture
  • Laughing at (and with) the preacher: Allan Rudy-Froese, assistant professor of Christian proclamation
  • Pastors as community organizer: Joining your neighborhood in reflection and action: David Miller, associate professor of missional leadership development, and Cyneatha Millsaps, pastor of Community Mennonite Church, Markham, Ill.
  • Preach the Gospel (and tell them to give money too!)—Being (in)direct about money in preaching and worship: Allan Rudy-Froese, assistant professor of Christian proclamation
  • Reading the Bible like our lives depend on it—leading formational Bible studies: Rachel Miller Jacobs, assistant professor of congregational formation
  • Thinking formationally about congregational life: Rachel Miller Jacobs, assistant professor of congregational formation

Youth seminar

  • Laughing at (and with) the preacher: Allan Rudy-Froese, assistant professor of Christian proclamation

Youth leader seminar

  • Reading the Bible with youth: Rachel Miller Jacobs, assistant professor of congregational formation

In addition, AMBS will participate in leading an adult seminar, Leadership development: Paths, stations and guides, led by Terry Shue.
