Anabaptist Prayer Book services with music
We present four services (morning and evening services for two days) from the Anabaptist Pryaer Book with sung “calls,” songs and hymns.
Grants from Schowalter Foundation and the Anabaptist Foundation of Vancouver have funded these recordings. Composer James E. Clemens was commissioned to write musical settings for parts of the services that are repeated. Other hymns and songs, recorded by musicians from Assembly Mennonite Church, Goshen, Ind. are included. Scott Hochstetler conducts the singers. Three Canadian members of the AMBS community - Ken Hawkley, Reece Retzlaff, and Carrie Martens - read the spoken parts of the services.
These recordings are conceived as a “pilot project.” We are looking for responses. We welcome comments and suggestions about possible further provision of musical setting of the Anabaptist Prayer Book services. Please send your ideas to prayerbook@ambs.edu.
