Shenk Mission Lectureship 2011
Commemorating completion of the Global Mennonite History series
Mirror on the Globalization of Mennonite Witness
October 27–29, 2011
Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart, Ind.
The biennial Shenk Mission Lectureship (Oct. 27–29, 2011) combines celebration of the Global Mennonite History Project with storytelling and analytical papers to probe missiologically and historically what must come next in Anabaptist-Mennonite global partnership.
Sessions begin Thursday, Oct. 27, and conclude with a banquet on Saturday evening, Oct. 29 and keynote presentation by Jonathan Bonk, executive director of the Overseas Ministries Study Center, New Haven, Conn. Also included are evening events on Thursday and Friday celebrating the Global Mennonite History Project and recognizing the writers of the five volumes in the series.
Because of the special focus on this year’s lectureship, a wide variety of people interested in both mission and history are encouraged to attend. Anabaptist historians, educators and students are invited, along with mission scholars and practitioners. The conversations among people from these varying disciplines will prove insightful, stimulating and challenging.
