The Church Leadership and Next Generation Awards

Full-tuition scholarships

The Church Leadership Award and the Next Generation Award are scholarship programs for Mennonite students who demonstrate strong potential for leadership ministries in the church. Each year, the Church Leadership Award is given to two students beginning the first year of study at AMBS in a Masters program. The award provides a full-tuition grant for up to three years provided the recipient continues in the program full time. The Next Generation Award is given to a student beginning the first year of study at AMBS in the Master of Divinity program. The award provides a full tuition grant for up to three years provided the recipient continues in the program full time.

The deadline for applying for these awards is March 15.

Multicultural scholarships

Multicultural scholarships are available annually for students (of any race) preparing to minister in a racial/ethnic context and who will contribute to the multicultural ethos of the church. AMBS will give priority to students identified by the AMBS Mission Studies Center in dialogue with Mennonite Church mission and service agencies and partners.

International students

International students from outside of North America qualify for need-based AMBS grants. Students with the endorsement and financial support of a Mennonite-related sponsoring agency receive some additional tuition assistance. All international students are required to provide documentation of their educational, living, and travel expenses.

Internship scholarships

AMBS annually will grant up to two three $5,000 scholarships for students who enroll in a year-long mission internship, including the SCUPE (Seminary Consortium for Urban Pastoral Education) program with an internship.

The Steiner Bivocational Scholarship

The Steiner Bivocational Scholarship is intended to assist people annually who are training for bivocational ministry or who are pastors coming from a situation where they combined their congregational ministry with other employment.

The MCEC-AMBS Study Fund

The MCEC-AMBS Study Fund is used to assist a pastor/student from the Mennonite Conference of Eastern Canada who needs approximately one year of residency to complete a degree at AMBS.
