Library

Check out the wealth of resources, print and digital, available on the AMBS Library web site.
The AMBS library provides resources in support of the curriculum and the research of faculty and students. The collection includes more than 110,000 books, about 500 journal subscriptions, several thousand audiovisual items, and an increasing number of digital multimedia items.
The holdings reflect the emphases of the curriculum on pastoral ministry, biblical studies, Mennonite and Anabaptist history and theology, and peace and justice studies. Computerized reference tools give efficient access to books, journal articles, essays, theses, and book reviews in all disciplines.
The AMBS library is a member of a joint automation system that links the holdings of 25 academic libraries in Indiana through a central computer in Indianapolis. This provides an online catalog, circulation control, and technical support for library functions.
Users of the AMBS library can search the catalogs of all participating libraries, which include the Mennonite Historical Library, the Goshen College library, and six other seminary collections. Interlibrary loan networks make the holdings of these 24 libraries and thousands of other North American public and academic libraries available to AMBS students.
The library provides a quiet place for study and reflection. Daily newspapers, church conference newsletters, and international publications keep students in touch with events back home and around the world. Every effort is made to meet the special needs of individual users. Personalized and group orientation sessions enable students and faculty to make maximum use of the available resources.
