Missy Kauffman Schrock

Missy Kauffman Schrock grew up in Charlottesville, VA, but has deep mid-western roots. Her grandfather, Nelson Kauffman, was instrumental in the formation of the Institute of Mennonite Studies during the early days of AMBS. She and John, her husband, met in Spiritual Life Disciplines class at AMBS in 1991. She has worked in business most of her life and in the non-profit sector for more than 15 years, managing a Ten Thousand Villages store and two different Mennonite Central Committee thrift shops before coming to work at AMBS. She enjoys reading, playing board and card games, playing volleyball, watching movies, and laughing.
John, Missy’s husband, works as a hospice chaplain. He received his BS from Central College in Pella, Iowa, his MDiv from AMBS, and DMin from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, MI. Their daughter, Rachel, attends Columbia College Chicago, where she is majoring in comedy writing and performance. Their son, Loren, attends Purdue University and is in the pre-pharmacy program. They also have a beloved old dog named Raz.
