Scott was born and raised in Delavan, Illinois. From there, he went on to receive his BA in Biblical and theological studies from Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After leaving university, Scott got a case of the travel bug and worked with Mennonite Mission Network in Barranquilla, Colombia for two years as a church youth worker connecting with youth from the congregation, as well as teaching English.

From Colombia, Scott moved to Menno Haven Camp and Retreat Center in Tiskilwa, Illinois to work as the program director. As an !Explore participant in 2006, AMBS has always been on Scott’s mind. He took the plunge in the fall of 2015 and enrolled as a master of divinity student. His journey with the development office began with his work as the student assistant, and he became the data services manager in early 2016.

In his free time, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and friends, cooking, laughing, going for walks, reading, and binge watching TV shows on Netflix.
