“No Church in the Wild: Christianity, White Supremacy, Black Liberation and Hip Hop” will be the theme of the 2018 Martin Luther King, Jr., Day events.

Featured guest: Dr. Daniel White Hodge, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Youth Ministry and Director of the Center for Youth Ministry Studies at North Park University, Chicago; and author of The Soul of Hip Hop: Rims, Timbs and a Cultural Theology.

Free public events include:

  • Presentation: "The Soul of Hip Hop and the Church in America" on Sunday, Jan. 14,2–3:30 p.m.
  • Morning workshop: "Intercultural Competencies in an Era of Trump and Fake News" on Monday, Jan. 15 from 8:30 a.m. – noon
