About Carli

Carli Steelman is a social movement scholar with a focus on studying religious movements, including US civil rights and the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa. Currently completing her PhD in Sociology and Peace Studies at Notre Dame University, she teaches key concepts of peace studies through the lens of their roots in theological traditions, including Anabaptism. Her research in conflict studies has included field work in Bosnia, Croatia, and Northern Ireland.
