Repairing the Harm: A Community Conversation on the Systemic Exclusion of African Americans in Elkhart
On Monday, January 20, the Intercultural Competence and Undoing Racism (ICUR) team will celebrate Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy with a panel discussion and community conversation featuring local Elkhart voices, including Rev. Jean Mayes and Jean Robinson, and special guest Benjamin J. Tapper, host of the Invisible Truths podcast. The event is free and open to the public.
The goals of the program are to:
- Name local incidences of harm against the African American community and the ongoing impact
- Highlight ways these harms have and have not been systematically addressed
- Encourage work for change and redress for the benefit of the whole community
The event is free and open to the public. It will take place on the AMBS campus. For details, speaker bios, please visit ambs.edu/mlkday.
