Disarmed: The Radical Life and Legacy of Michael “MJ” Sharp, Marshall V. King’s compelling new biography of Mennonite peacemaker MJ Sharp, was the focus of an author event hosted by the AMBS Library and Bookstore.
It’s been a rough two years for pastors and church leaders. Organizers of Pastors & Leaders | Deep Faith 2022, chose the theme “Formed in the Wilderness, Leading in Hope” to address these challenges.
Six participants from Mennonite Church USA congregations completed the Journey Missional Leadership Development Program in 2021.
The AMBS community held a ribbon cutting Feb. 16 to celebrate the completed remodeling of the seminary’s largest classroom into three smaller, flexible, partitioned classrooms.
Congregations and organizations are learning directly from AMBS faculty members on a topic of their choice through the Invite AMBS program — both in person and virtually.
Some years ago, I was riding with a group of people in the covered bed of a pickup in Venezuela. As the pickup pulled to a stop, I said to one of my traveling companions, “I wonder where we are?” — to which she replied, “I guess we are somewhere!”
The AMBS Board of Directors includes representatives from the seminary’s sponsoring denominations (Mennonite Church USA and Mennonite Church Canada) and other constituencies. We recognize and thank our outgoing board members for contributing their time, experience and expertise.
At the Institute of Mennonite Studies (IMS), the research and publishing wing of AMBS, we collaborate with Anabaptist scholars from across North America and around the world through our publishing partnerships.
Dee McOwen, Administrative Assistant to the Registrar and Education Database Manager for Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) in Elkhart, Indiana, retired at the end of December 2021, concluding nearly 20 years of service to the seminary.
A history project that has collected elders’ stories of Elkhart’s predominantly Black Benham West neighborhood and documented the process of the city’s eventual clearing of the neighborhood was the focus of Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary’s 2022 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day program.
