Your study may begin anytime between September and May. We expect you to complete each unit within five months (excluding the summer months: June, July, and August) of beginning it. There is no enrollment deadline.
If you have not completed the course in five months, you may request an extension from the PSDE office. Please contact the PSDE office—not the instructor—to request an extension. If we do not hear from you, we will begin billing you for the monthly extension fees. After a one-month grace period, you will be charged an extension fee of $20 per month. This extension period expires one year after your beginning date.
If your extension has expired and you want to reestablish contact with PSDE, you may do so by paying a continuation fee of $100. If you have not completed your work within an additional five-month study period, you may again request an extension from the PSDE office. If the extension is granted, you may continue in the course for five months. If you have not completed the course work by the end of that five-month period, we will allow you a one-month grace period. After that ends, you will be charged an extension fee of $20 per month. The second extension period will expire one year from the beginning date of the continuation period.
If you opt to drop out temporarily and then want to reactivate your enrollment, you may submit a request to do so, with payment of a $100 continuation fee. You won’t be charged for any monthly fees for the temporary drop-out period. But if the drop-out period has been longer than a year, you will need to start the course at the beginning. If you dropped out because something major came up, or if you had fewer than three lessons to complete, we will make adjustments on a case by case basis.
All fees are subject to annual review.
