Upside Down and Inside Out
Saturday, January 17, 2015.
8:30 a.m.-3:30p.m. EST
Using as a starting point the Mennonite Church Lent theme, “Upside Down and Inside Out,” this planner is a resource for leaders interested in both lectionary-based worship planning and broader questions and issues in congregational worship. The day will include times of worship, opportunities to sink in deeply to the theological grounding for the season’s theme, and ideas and opportunities for specific movements of worship such as scripture presentations, children’s time, prayer, music and visual elements for the weeks of Lent. Worship resources published in Leader magazine provide an orienting point for the day’s explorations, so participants should bring a copy of the magazine or order one when registering for the workshop.
Worship planners and leaders in congregations who would like to observe Lent will find this a helpful day to experience some of the worship and faith formation potential of this season.
