ELKHART, Indiana (Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary) — Beverly Lapp, Ed.D., of Goshen, Indiana, will be installed as the new vice president and academic dean of Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at the Chapel of the Sermon on the Mount on the AMBS campus in Elkhart, Indiana.
The public is invited to the installation service, whose theme will be “Sing a new song.” The featured speakers will be Lapp and John D. Roth, Ph.D., professor of history at Goshen College, director of the Mennonite Historical Library and the Institute for the Study of Global Anabaptism, and editor of Mennonite Quarterly Review. A light reception will follow the service in the chapel foyer.
Lapp was appointed by AMBS’s Board of Directors in April and began in her new role July 1, 2018. She has a Doctor of Education from Columbia University Teachers College in New York City; a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey; and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Goshen (Indiana) College. She is also a graduate of Christopher Dock Mennonite High School (now Dock Mennonite Academy) in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
