Parker Sutter first joined AMBS’s Marketing and Communications Team in July 2018 while pursuing graduate studies at AMBS from a distance. He served part time as Marketing Coordinator for the seminary’s Church Leadership Center, adding the role of Digital Marketing Manager in July 2019. In January 2021, his role increased to 0.75 FTE.

Parker Sutter’s responsibilities included managing AMBS’s website and social media accounts; overseeing digital analytics, marketing strategy and database management; and coordinating video production. A key part of his work involved leading and implementing the redesign of AMBS’s website, which launched in December 2021. Features of the redesigned website include an updated homepage geared toward people new to the seminary and a section that helps users find AMBS resources connected to specific topics.

In 2022, he also was instrumental in designing promotional campaigns for two live webinars on Christian nationalism that reached a wide national audience. His marketing strategy work focused on guiding users to the information most relevant to them; toward that end, he reworked AMBS’s online subscription center to communicate more clearly about the email newsletters the seminary offers.

During his time at AMBS, Parker Sutter also became the first student to complete AMBS’s new fully online Master of Arts: Theology and Global Anabaptism degree, graduating in April 2022.

“Ben brought a strong background in communications and online marketing and a deep understanding of the church to his work at AMBS,” said Melissa Troyer, Director of Marketing and Communications. “His perspectives and experiences of being an AMBS student also enriched our work as a team. We’re grateful for his many behind-the-scenes contributions and the groundwork he helped establish for our current and future marketing and communications initiatives.”

Located in Elkhart, Indiana, on ancestral land of the Potawatomi and Miami peoples, Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary is a learning community with an Anabaptist vision, offering theological education for learners both on campus and at a distance as well as a wide array of lifelong learning programs — all with the goal of educating followers of Jesus Christ to be leaders for God’s reconciling mission in the world.
