Try an upcoming course

Taking an upcoming course can help you get a feel for what studying with us would be like. Or, it can supplement study you’ve already done.

Want to explore seminary study?

At AMBS, students may take up to two courses for credit without having been admitted to one of our degree or certificate programs, with a limit of one course per term. If you are not an admitted student at AMBS and are not enrolled at another seminary, college or university, your first three credit hours at AMBS are 50% off regular tuition rates. (Grebel and CMU students, see this exception.)

Ready to register for a course as a guest?

If you are not yet an admitted student at AMBS and are not enrolled at another seminary, college, or university, please register as a guest student. If you are enrolled at one of our partnership schools, learn more about our registering through our partnerships.

Learn about auditing courses

Campus or blended courses that are open to auditors are designated below either with “Open to auditors” or “Auditors: consult with instructor.” See FAQ: Auditing courses.

Take a course during Intensive Term, 2022–23

The courses listed here do not have prerequisites. To view all courses AMBS is offering this year, visit our Academic course list page.

COVID-19 update: At this time, we are planning for campus class sessions and Hybrid Week class sessions to meet in person during the 2022–23 academic year. If pandemic conditions require adjustments to delivery formats, we will communicate these to students and instructors. (See also our COVID-19 Update Center for more information.)

Upcoming hybrid courses

Online work: May 8 – July 21, 2023
Hybrid Week on campus: June 5–10, 2023
Tuition due: May 1, 2023

Hybrid courses begin and end with online assignments and interactions, and they require students to be on campus for one scheduled week during the course for face-to-face interactions with other students and faculty. This allows students to meet the program’s residency requirements.
